The airWG Team is looking for an independent curator (Part Time) committed to contemporary artistic practices, from a theoretical and practical perspective, to join our team from July 2021, for an initial period of 3 months. (This period can be extended by mutual agreement).
airWG, is an artist residency program organized by the atelierWG community in Amsterdam since 2015. We are a small non-profit organization, whose purpose is to build a fertile and sustainable space for reflection, creative dialogue, and professional development for our residents.
Our residency program is open to national and international artists, curators, researchers, musicians, and writers, selected through an open call. In addition to provide a space for experiment, production, and presentation of projects, we encourage our residents to link with the local community from a broad perspective.
Your profile / what to do;
You have a creative, practical and critical approach as art curator with an interest in stimulating dialogue and teamwork with volunteers and residents in a sustainable way.
You are a good communicator and able to collaborate with international teams.
You are interested in creating the conditions for social changes, new narratives and community participation.
You have strong writing skills in fluent English. Fluent Dutch is a bonus, as well as your ability to write curatorial statements, promotional texts, applications to local funds.
You will actively participate together with the airWG Team in the selection process of residents.
You are interested in transdisciplinary dialogue and participation in both local and global networks.
In cooperation with the resident artists and airWG, you will take care of the exhibition and the final presentation in our exhibition space puntWG.
airWG deals - What do we offer?
A fee of 700€ per curatorial project for each residency period (3 months). Thanks to the Kunstpodium Start subsidy by the Mondriaan Fonds.
The opportunity to further develop your curatorial practice in a theoretical and practical way.
Basic technical support.
You will be part of a small independent organization.
